First Semester
The first semester covers two nine-week grading periods. The 1st Nine Weeks ends October 6, followed by a short Fall Break on October 13-14. Students get Fair Day off on November 14 -- a WBR tradition tied to the parish fair. Thanksgiving Break runs November 24-28, giving families the full week.
The 2nd Nine Weeks wraps up on December 18, and Winter Break runs from December 19 through January 2. Students return on January 6.
Second Semester
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed on January 19. Mardi Gras Break falls on February 16-17, giving students the Monday and Tuesday off for carnival celebrations.
Spring Break runs April 3-10, covering a full week plus the surrounding weekend. This is the longest break of the second semester and a popular time for family travel.
The school year wraps up with the last day on May 20, which is a half day for students.
