WBR Local is a community information project of ManiGinaM, LLC, based in Port Allen, Louisiana. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this site, why we collect it, how we store it, and the choices you have. We keep this deliberately short and plain.
What We Collect and Why
We only collect information you choose to give us through one of our sign-up forms. We do not require an account, and we do not ask for anything we do not need.
- Email newsletter / civic alert sign-up. If you subscribe to receive new local guides, parish updates, or community and civic alerts, we collect your first name and email address. We use these solely to send you the WBR content and alerts you asked for.
- Business listing requests. If you ask us to list your business in the West Baton Rouge directory, we collect the business name, your name, email address, phone number, business category, website, and a short description you provide. We use this to review your request, add your business to the directory, and follow up with you about the listing.
- Basic technical data. When you submit a form, we also record the date and time and your browser's user-agent string. This helps us reduce spam and keep the forms working. We do not build advertising profiles.
We use a privacy-respecting site analytics tool and Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used (for example, which guides are popular). This is standard traffic measurement and is not used to identify you personally.
How Your Information Is Stored
Form submissions are stored in a secured Cloudflare D1 database associated with this site. The site is served over HTTPS, so information you submit is encrypted in transit. Access to the stored data is limited to ManiGinaM, LLC. We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose you gave it (sending you updates, or maintaining your directory listing), or until you ask us to delete it.
We Do Not Sell or Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. The only processors involved are the infrastructure and email providers we use to actually run the site and deliver the messages you requested (for example, our hosting and email-delivery services), and they may only use the data to perform those services for us. We may disclose information if required by law.
Opt Out, Access, and Deletion
You are in control of your information:
- Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message we send, or by emailing us.
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Request deletion of your information, including removal of a business listing request.
To make any of these requests, email us at the address below and we will take care of it promptly.
Children's Privacy
This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
If we make a meaningful change to how we handle your information, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
